Discover CBD Active Pet Tincture uses an isolate CBD extract from non-organic hemp. Unfortunately, Discover CBD does not mention where they source their hemp, whereas the best brands use only US grown hemp which has stricter growing regulations.
Looking at its most recent CBD lab report of its 300mg concentration confirms a total of 344mg of CBD, without any additional cannabinoids present. This absence of other cannabinoids means it doesn’t benefit from the entourage effect typically seen in full-spectrum products.
Another downside to Discover CBD’s pet oil is that the most recent lab report available on their website is slightly outdated, dating back to August 25th, 2022. While there are products with older lab reports, the more premium brands’ reports typically fall within a one year range.
The tincture incorporates MCT oil as its carrier oil and is available in bacon or chicken flavors. However, its limited size options of 120mg and 300mg may not suit all dog sizes, particularly those requiring higher CBD doses.
